Screwed

Posted by Daphne on October 15th, 2006 — Posted in Good Reading, Current Events

I just saw a fascinating talk on BookTV on CSPAN given by Thom Hartmann, author of the book Screwed: The Undeclared War Against the Middle Class — And What We Can Do About It. He talked a lot about the history of the middle class, about conservatives and progressives and how many of the laws put into the place in the last 20-30 years are essentially causing the middle class to wither and die. Fascinating stuff. I plan to get the book and read it as soon as I can. Oh - and he suggested this site: World Can’t Wait, which I haven’t had a chance to look through yet, but which also looks very interesting. Check it out.
